ERIC, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Institute of Education Sciences (IES), provides free access to more than 1.2 million bibliographic records of journal articles and other education-related materials and, if available, includes links to full text.

The Gateway to Educational Materials (GEM) provides access Internet-based lesson plans, instructional units and other educational materials in all forms and formats. GEM's goal is to improve the organization and accessibility of the substantial collections of materials that are already available on various federal, state, university, non-profit, and commercial Internet sites.

The Eisenhower Clearinghouse specializes in math and science. Its criteria are explicit and input is sought from several classes of users, though not always consistently.

The Canadian site offers resources to educators, parents and students. You can find what you may be looking for easier than on the other huge databases, often just categorized by subject matter rather than particular grades or courses.
