Google has initiated a special educational site--a work in progress. It features tailored search and visualizing approaches, such as sketch up, collaborative writing, and some professional tools like a calendar and employment resources. Teachers can contribute their own lessons and students can share ideas on speakout opportunities.
Google Labs showcases a few of Google's favorite ideas that aren't quite ready for prime time. In their own words, "Please play with these prototypes and send your comments directly to the Googlers who developed them." The list of demos changes on a regular basis. At the time this page was posted, they featured Google Glossary (find definitions for words, phrases and acronyms), Google Sets (automatically create sets of items from a few examples), Voice Search (search on Google by voice with a simple telephone call) and Keyboard Shortcuts (navigate search results without using your mouse).
