Multimedia Schools Magazine (a member of the OnLine Inc. family of publications) and the National Education Computing Conference is sponsoring a contest for student technology leaders. Some of the criteria include innovative use of software, use by disabled persons, and demonstration of leadership by training others and supporting large communities beyond school walls. Nominations are made by teachers and peers. Although this year's deadline is 2/29/96, the prize is a trip to NECC so the contest will be held annually.
Annotation
The increasing popularity of student contests and exhibits stimulates motivation among students, while, at the same time, providing a dissemination mechanism for adult leaders and policy-makers. Such an activity is also a strong index of student achievement and an authentic outcome in this domain.
