Many states have incorporated a technology training requirement into their teacher certification programs. Some universities and colleges with ed departments lack sufficient resources for teachers, whether new or returning teachers seeking continuing education courses, to obtain appropriate and adequate training online. Yahoo has brought its experience to bear as a premiere search service on organizing a comprehensive of online courseware on almost every pertinent telecommunications topic. The site is easy to navigate and entries are accompanied by defining descriptions so valuable time is conserved. Adult students could also practice at home with these offerings.
Opportunities for learning online skills online seem to multiply daily. Costs vary from free to $500 and up, and rarely does a user have a chance to preview the contents (which we know is a requisite for filtering ed materials prior to use). The Yahoo listing has been pre-filtered for you so you will know what you are getting before becoming involved. Most of the list can be used via a desktop at school or home--ie. on-demand learning.
