The Center for Children and Technology and Bank Street are offering an online seminar to bring the national standards in mathematics to life in the classroom (k-8). A video of case studies is also available (email to mhoney@confer.edc.org). These standards are also being entered online.
EDC also promotes MCC, 13 curricula matching these standards and sponsored by NSF.The site is searchable by level of schooling and contains all necessary contact and descriptive information for obtaining samples of each. The advantage is that staff can easily compare alternative approaches to implementing the same methods.
Annotation
Integrating math and science national guidelines is rarely undertaken beyond grade 5. These resources will facilitate that coordination.
