Classroom Information Management

Software for automating the classroom, including student identification, class scheduling, enrollment & attendance, test grading, scores & grades, and more.

Pearson Education is an example of products designed to track and access data such as student id, class scheduling, enrollment and attendance by a quick click on the student's photo, test scores and grades, multimedia notecard for text and movies of student work with teacher annotations. It can be used within a school and between a school and district office.

Some other student response systems, relying on keypads and other devices, include ClassInHand and TurningPoint. These systems will help teachers who search for comprehensive ways to manage information for very large numbers of students.

My Access is another software tool for individualizing content by skill and learning style. Its use has been linked to higher test scores.

Look for more options in this area in the future. With the upcoming generation of computer & web savvy educators, new, easy-to-use tools and practices are inevitable.
