Post Office

Postings only can be made on these sites. You can read about other postings once you hook up but there is no function for discussion via these sites. If you include your email address, folks will reply individually. They are well-managed and interesting. A companion listing of incredibly diverse sites can be found at mid.net. The Edtech site is actually a center with listings of policies and examples of projects. Kidsphere maintains a list of projects.

The GlobalSchoolNet, now a part of Lightspan, supports a post office. It just began a new service, called HILITES, which makes a project registry available for you to obtain telecommunication partners all over the world. GSN also maintains a list of upcoming online conferences via CU-SeeMe, a teleconferencing capability. The staff is preparing a CD with tutorials and resources for telecommunications--at no cost to you.

Email to crc@classroom.net will result in reading by a large audience, too.

Individual telecommunication projects take advantage of the Web HOMEPAGE function to post notices pertaining to related projects. You have to find the projects, first, though. Posting instructions are located on Web pages.

When you post, be sure to indicate whether it can be sent freely or requires the author's permission (you!) or is copyrighted.

The day is too short to check these lists frequently unless you are a media or computer specialist. Fortunately, the managers often bundle postings together so you won't miss out if you check once a month.
