In order to make the library a pleasant place for everyone, please follow the following guidelines:
- If you are the author/maintainer of a page, please make an effort to keep your page up-to-date. In the virtual world the pace of change is instantaneous. Some of the sites may have disappeared or migrated into other neighborhoods with no known forwarding address. If you are a user, and discover that a page is out-of-date, please send email to the maintainer of the page and let them know that there is a correction to be made.
- References, especially commercial products, are cited as exemplars, not endorsements. When you tell others about your discoveries in this library, please adopt that perspective.
- Please bear in mind that documents on the Web are covered by the same legal and moral copyrights as printed documents. Please do not incorporate items of original authorship from other sites in pages that you create. Note that "original authorship" includes not just text and graphics, but also sound, video, animations, and any other creative work. If you really want to use elements from another site, contact the author to see if you can get explicit permission.
- Like any library, widespread circulation is encouraged. We encourage all people to access this site. However, we would appreciate it if you accessed this server rather than copied it to your site. Once you have copied it, usage statistics - important for supporting its continued funding - cannot be collected. Furthermore, tools for updating the library are not publicly available, so would be inoperable on a cloned site.
- Because this library is intended to be an interactive resource, you can add new entries, including pointers to your own publications. Include your name and contact address.
- Please preserve descriptions and annotations for each entry as given, in accordance with emerging standards for intellectual property rights for online publications.
- A list of authors and entries is available at the Librarian's Desk.
