K12IMC gathers two types of information about visitors: data that users provide through optional, voluntary registration, and data K12IMC gathers through aggregated tracking information derived mainly by tallying page views on our site. Such information enables us to better tailor our content to readers' needs.

K12IMC's policy regarding use of your individual identifying information supplied to us or collected via your experience at our online website, K12IMC.ORG, covers these areas...

A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the site uses to track the pages you've visited, but the only personal information a cookie could contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. The K12IMC site uses cookies to track user traffic patterns and preferences (such as no music on the home page). We do this in order to determine the usefulness of K12IMC information to our users and to see how effective our navigational structure is in helping users reach that information. K12IMC does not correlate this information with data about individual users, nor does it share this information or sell it to any third party.

If you prefer not to receive cookies, you can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies and refuse the cookie when your browser alerts you to its presence. You can also refuse all cookies by making the appropriate setting in your browser settings. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use any public area of the K12IMC site. Registering with K12IMC allows you to receive the e-mail newsletter, but will not gain you access to any additional public areas of the site.
