The Tech Museum in San Jose and The Computer Museum (tcm)in Boston feature the history of technologies. Via interactive browsers students can participate in some of their exhibits. At the Boston site is a greater than lifesize model of a computer and an art display generated by that artist's computer program. The Los Alamos Laboratory (lanl) traces the history and current use of energy, including, as you might expect, nuclear energy. The ThinkQuest#13681 is not, strictly speaking, a museum but you can hear Leonardo's music and explore Mona Lisa's smile.**One of the few sites, accompanied by sign for hearing impaired students.
Another special exhibit about Leonardo da Vinci opened at the Ufizi in Florence. It showcases his ingenious experiments.
Annotation
Although students often learn the most about computers by disassembling them (as folks have experienced with every technological advance), the exhibits at these museums also reveal the inner workings of the technology which has enabled telecommunications.
