This domain is not only ideally suitable for gathering data via telecommunications but also for learning and transmitting policy suggestions. The environment, after all, is not bounded by local and state borders.
Telecommunications is two-way. If your students discover some important findings, they can go right to "the center" and express their outcomes and interpretations via email.
